Genesee Interior & Exterior Renovation
Warm natural materials, expansive views, & refined interior spaces for elevated mountain living

A Large-Scale Exterior Renovation
The project began after hail damage made a full window replacement necessary. From there, the scope expanded into a coordinated exterior renovation designed to improve the home’s performance and bring the quality of the exterior in line with the scale and character of the property.
Cillessen Construction replaced all the windows, installed new stucco, completed masonry repairs, and coordinated upgrades to the entry, garage, decks, and exterior elevations.
Exterior Materials & Mountain Character
The renovation included new stucco, masonry repairs, window replacement, and custom architectural details while preserving the home’s established mountain character.
A semi-smooth hand-troweled stucco finish created a cleaner backdrop for the stone and timber elements. Broad decks, dark metal details, natural wood, and expansive windows help the home settle into its wooded Genesee setting.

Full-Home Loewen Window Replacement
One of the largest components of the renovation was replacing the home’s windows with Loewen windows. Large expanses of glass now frame the surrounding trees and mountain views throughout the home, including the main living spaces, dining areas, stair landing, and reading nook.
Because the original windows were damaged by hail, Cillessen Construction also worked with the homeowner and insurance company to secure approvals for replacement materials of similar kind and quality.
Custom Entry & Garage Details
At the front of the home, substantial stonework, exposed timber, and large glass doors create a warm welcome. Custom garage and entry doors were incorporated into the exterior, helping the updated elevations feel cohesive with the home's size, materials, and architectural character.

Interior Improvements Throughout the Home
Inside, the renovation focused less on changing the layout and more on improving how the home performs and feels day-to-day.
Every room was touched in some way, with work extending across the home as Cillessen Construction upgraded insulation, repaired finished surfaces, repainted affected areas, and added custom-built details.

A More Comfortable, Efficient Home
As construction progressed, the team identified opportunities to improve insulation throughout the exterior walls.
Foam insulation was injected into the wall cavities across the home, requiring careful work within already finished spaces. Once the insulation was in place, the affected drywall was repaired and the walls repainted.
Custom Details Built for the Home
The project also included custom millwork fabricated by Cillessen Construction.
Built-ins and a custom bunk bed added useful, tailored elements to the interior and brought another layer of craftsmanship to the finished spaces.

How We Brought It All Together
This renovation required Cillessen Construction to coordinate a large exterior restoration and substantial interior work at the same time.
The team managed window replacement, stucco, masonry repairs, insulation upgrades, drywall, paint, and custom finish work as one connected project. With nearly every room affected, careful sequencing helped keep the work moving efficiently while limiting disruption inside the home.
Working Through Insurance Approvals
Because the project began with hail-damaged windows, part of the early work involved coordinating with the homeowner and insurance company to secure approvals for replacement materials of similar kind and quality.
That process helped establish the foundation for a broader renovation that addressed both the immediate damage and additional improvements throughout the home.
Keeping a Large Project Moving
The primary renovation took place from June through October 2020, with work happening throughout the interior and exterior of the house.
Material lead times during that period added another layer of coordination, particularly for the window package. The team kept multiple scopes moving together so the project could stay on pace despite the size of the home and the amount of work involved.
This Genesee renovation brought many different trades and project needs together under one scope. The result is a home that retains its established mountain character while benefiting from updated materials, improved performance, and carefully executed details throughout.
